Traffic Alert: Temporary Shift for Transjakarta Separators on North Gatot Subroto

Drivers and commuters on Jalan Jenderal Gatot Subroto should expect temporary changes as Transjakarta lane separators are being shifted to make room for sidewalk upgrades.

This is part of our strategy to keep traffic moving while infrastructure work continues

The relocation affects the northern side of the road, specifically between K-Link Tower and Pancoran intersection (Graha Mustika). As a result, Transjakarta buses will share lanes with regular traffic in these areas.

"This is part of our strategy to keep traffic moving while infrastructure work continues. We're monitoring the situation closely and evaluating the traffic flow to minimize delays," expressed Jakarta Transportation Agency Head, Budi Awaluddin, Wednesday (8/19).

The work is being carried out in phases to ensure the impact on your daily commute is kept to a minimum.

Budi explained that the sidewalk enhancement also incorporates drainage system upgrades. It will result in temporary road narrowing as safety fencing is installed to secure the construction zone.

To minimize disruption, the dimensions of the work area and safety barriers will be adjusted dynamically based on real-time traffic density. Notably, road widening will be conducted near the northern segment of the Pancoran Bus Stop to optimize lane consistency and traffic flow.

"Since the work is being executed in stages, traffic management will evolve alongside the progress in each segment. We urge the public to remain alert to road signs and officers' directions on-site, and to adjust their travel times accordingly when passing through the Gatot Subroto area," he explained.

This adjustment is only temporary. The separators will be reinstalled as soon as the sidewalk upgrades are finished by the Public Works Agency.

"We urge commuters to stay alert, respect the traffic rules, and follow the directions of our officers to ensure a safe journey for everyone around the work site," he emphasized.

The project is being carried out in a phased approach across three key segments:

• Phase 1 (August 1 – October 10, 2026): Work covers a 650-meter stretch between Jalan Dukuh Patra and Jalan Rasamala Raya.

• Phase 2 (September 13 – October 31, 2026): A 200-meter segment from Jalan Rasamala Raya to Graha Mustika.

• Phase 3 (October 4 – November 14, 2026): The final 200-meter span from K-Link Tower to Jalan Dukuh Patra.
